“Oak and Ivy” contemporary figurative painting
I’m still learning at a good rate, so I expect to develop some solid skills in the next 6 months. I grew up out in the Delta, out of town, where everything had been clear cut and the fields stretched as far as the eye could see. All summer long, it was hot and humid without the slightest breeze unless a thunderhead came along. You could see the waves of heat coming off the cotton and the soybeans. When we went into Greenville, it was the shade trees and the sidewalks I envied most, more than the big houses or the tennis courts or even the swimming pools. It was so beautiful.
