I am still doing some technical “retooling.” I am working to integrate the brush and the palette knife and also how to use glazes in an expressionistic painting where images emerge from rough strokes. I’m not sure if this is possible in practical terms.  The glazes are all about translucence, and careful layering is required.  Rough-stroke expressionism seems to be an opposite approach where the image is hacked out quickly with a dull axe.  For years I struggled without the benefits of a professional painting system (media, gels, archival pigments, sufficient pigment density, etc.). Now I have all sorts of variables to play with.
