I remember the big swarms of blackbirds that would migrate across the delta in the spring. There were big iridescent black grackles and red-wing blackbirds and huge flocks of smaller black birds. The grackles would sing something like “boh-bob-a-lee.” That’s about the best I can transliterate the song.
